Summer Activities
Please see below for a little more information about the days we are offering during the first two weeks of the school summer holidays 2026
Monday 27th July
Wingham Wildlife Park
Wingham Wildlife Park hosts the largest number of animal and bird species out of any of the Kent wildlife parks and zoos. This means that when it comes to getting up close and personal with some of the world’s most beloved animals, there isn’t a better place to visit.
From monkeys to jaguars, red pandas to penguins, there is a huge range of animals and birds that visitors can expect to see on their visit to the park.
Registration will be 9.30 am at the Canterbury Academy reception. Transport will be provided to and from the animal park. Collection at the end of the day will be at 3.30pm.
We ask that those attending bring a small day pack with drinking water and sun-cream if hot.
Tuesday 28th July
Ross Wood Activity Centre
A fantastic day based at Ross Wood in West Blean woods. Those attending will have the opportunity to take part in tomahawk throwing, archery and target shooting. Weather permitting we will open fires for making treats of smores and twists.
Registration will be 9.30am at the Canterbury Academy reception and collection at the end of the day will be 3.30pm.
Wednesday 29th July
Dover Castle
A magnificent place to explore from the roman lighthouse to the top of the tower to the underground dungeons. There will be plenty to see and do on this day.
Registration will be 9.30am at he Canterbury Academy reception and collection will be at 3.30pm.
We ask that those attending bring a small day pack with water and sun-cream if hot.
Thursday 30th July
Moat Park
A great way to finish our first week. Try out open top kayaks and paddle boards or for a bit of fun the pedlows.
As this will be a day on the water a change of clothes and towel is a must. Clothing for the activity should be appropriate and you will get wet!
Registration will be 9.30am at the Canterbury Academy main reception and collection at 3.30pm
Monday 3rd August
Grange Farm Activity Centre
Those attending will be able to try out the indoor climbing centre learning about rope safety, belay and climbing techniques. There will be a session on fencing, learning the art and taking part in duals. The day concludes with fun in zorbing...bounce around in your very own zorb.
Registration will be at the Canterbury Academy main reception and collection at 3.30pm.

Tuesday 4th August
Ramsgate
The day starts at Westwood Cross AirHop (socks provided) where those taking part will have an hour to bounce and take part in a range of inflatable activities. We then head for the harbour. We split into two groups with one group experiencing the history of Ramsgate Maritime while the other take a rib ride to the Stour Estuary to see the basking seals. The groups then swap over.

Wednesday 5th August
Pottery
Something a little different for those with a creative flair or those wanting to try something new. A relaxed day in a purpose built pottery where those taking part can have a go at clay throwing, clay modelling and the potters wheel. All creations will then be glazed and fired. Firing will be post event and the finished items will be collected and distributed appx a week after (the clay must dry fully before firing).
Thursday 6th August
Rivals Social
Following a great day during our Easter provision we return with even more fun to be had to finish our summer season. Ten Pin bowling, shuffle board, target shooting and car racing are all on the agenda.
